MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - If you know someone who’s been doing good but unheralded work for Vermont’s environment, here’s a chance to honor them.

The state Agency of Natural Resources has announced that nominations are open until Feb. 2 for the 2015 Governor’s Awards for Environmental Excellence.

The annual awards recognize resource conservation, environmental protection, pollution prevention, and sustainability efforts made by Vermonters.

Awards are given in a variety of categories, and individuals, organizations, educational institutions, public agencies and businesses are all eligible for consideration.
