PORTLAND, Ind. (AP) - An eastern Indiana injection molding plant has announced plans to expand and create up to 102 new jobs by 2018.

The Indiana Economic Developing Corp. said Monday that Carrera Manufacturing Inc. will invest $1.27 million to construct and equip a cleanroom within its 80,000 square-foot manufacturing facility in Portland, 45 miles south of Fort Wayne. It says the cleanroom is expected to be operating next spring and allow Carrera to broaden its finishes and coatings.

Carrera employs 82 workers. It plans to begin hiring for the new jobs by the end of the year.

The Indiana Economic Development Corp. offered Carrera up to $300,000 in conditional tax credits and up to $200,000 in training grants. Jay County will consider other incentives.
