PUEBLO, Colo. (AP) - Election officials say Pueblo County voter turnout could top 60 percent.

The Pueblo Chieftain reports (https://tinyurl.com/plfwcmr ) nearly half the 90,000 ballots mailed to voters had been returned by Monday.

County Clerk Gilbert “Bo” Ortiz says at the current pace turnout could exceed 60 percent by the time polls close Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Ortiz says more than 20,000 ballots had been returned by registered Democrats, more than 13,000 by Republicans and 8,900 by unaffiliated voters.

Those totals represent 50 percent of the ballots mailed to Democrats, 59 percent mailed to Republicans and 32 percent mailed to unaffiliated voters.
