FRESNO, Calif. (AP) - Investigators have named a suspect in a series of arson fires in southeast Fresno - three of which broke out in the span of about an hour, damaging three homes.

The Fresno Bee reports (https://bit.ly/1xdt85Q ) 28-year-old Ruben George Ochoa is suspected in the series of blazes that broke out Tuesday.

He is also sought in connection with a fire set in a palm tree Sunday night.

The newspaper says the first blaze erupted shortly before noon Tuesday in an unoccupied home. Firefighters were just bringing that fire under control when a second fire broke out at another unoccupied home several blocks away.

A short time later another blaze was reported a block away in a detached garage.

Investigators say Ochoa is a gang member and is homeless.

Total damage in the fires is estimated at about $25,000.
