JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (AP) - The death of an inmate last summer at the Onslow County jail has been ruled a suicide.

The Daily News of Jacksonville reports (https://bit.ly/1pl2UQ2 ) that 39-year-old Dana Scott Hill of Jacksonville was found hanging in his cell August 12. Emergency workers were unable to revive him.

An investigation by the State Bureau of Investigation determined the death was a suicide. The investigation found that Hill had left a note for his family in his cell.

Hill was in jail on charges of sexually abusing a 15-year-old.
