TREMONT CITY, Ohio (AP) - Authorities say a fire has destroyed a historic building in southwest Ohio that housed a local post office.

WHIO-TV in Dayton reports (https://bit.ly/1qp9VtO ) the building in Tremont City in Clark County burned for several hours Wednesday morning. The building - the roof of which collapsed during the fire - housed vacant businesses and apartments in addition to the post office branch. No injuries were reported.

The postmaster says the mail in the building was salvaged and would be available later Wednesday at a nearby branch.

Parts of the building were constructed in the late 1800s.

The state fire marshal has been called to help investigate the fire.
