NEW CUMBERLAND, W.Va. (AP) - New Cumberland is losing its mayor and a city councilman.

Media outlets report that Councilman Shawn Marks resigned during a council meeting Monday night.

Mayor Linda McNeil tells The East Liverpool Review (https://bit.ly/1tz78Sx ) in Ohio that she plans to submit her resignation Wednesday. She says her resignation would be effective in three weeks.

Marks tells media outlets that he’s frustrated with the way city business is conducted. He resigned and left Monday’s meeting after the council didn’t accept his bid for an old police cruiser.

McNeil says she decided to step down after another council member told her she was doing too many things without the council’s input.
