HADLEY, Mass. (AP) - A Connecticut man is facing charges for allegedly stealing a landscaping truck and trailer containing several lawnmowers from outside a Massachusetts home, then leading police on a chase down Interstate 91.

Pablo Garcia Jr., of Bridgeport, Connecticut, is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday on charges including larceny of a motor vehicle.

Police say the truck was parked outside a Hadley home on Tuesday with the keys in the ignition. Garcia allegedly hopped in the truck, and took off with the attached trailer, which contained three $15,000 lawnmowers. Police say he ran over a $650 leaf blower as he fled.

After allegedly refusing to stop for Northampton police, Garcia got on I-91 south and was stopped by state police using tire deflating devices.

It’s not known if he has a lawyer.
