SAN SEBASTIAN, Spain (AP) - Real Sociedad says it is talking to former Manchester United coach David Moyes about the managerial vacancy at the Spanish club.

Sociedad president Jokin Aperribay says “there are several names, and it is true those of (Pepe) Mel and Moyes.”

Aperribay says the Basque club is considering four coaches to replace Jagoba Arrasate, who was fired on Sunday after just one victory in the team’s first 10 league games.

He adds that “we are trying to get to know each of the four people we are negotiating with.”

Asier Santana and Imanol Alguacil from the existing coaching staff will take charge for Sunday’s home game against defending champion Atletico Madrid, Sociedad said.

Moyes was fired from United in April, 10 months after taking over following the retirement of Alex Ferguson.
