LOS ANGELES (AP) - Red flag warnings for fire danger are in effect for a broad swath of Southern California mountains, foothills and valleys due to gusty Santa Ana winds and low relative humidity levels.

The National Weather Service says surface high pressure over the Great Basin will create warming, with offshore winds and humidity levels down to 5 percent in some areas into Thursday.

Forecasters say high temperatures will reach into the 80s and low 90s while strongest wind gusts will range between 30 mph and 45 mph.
