SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) - Spokane voters have approved a bond to renovate Riverfront Park and a levy to continue street reconstruction work.

The Spokesman-Review reports (https://bit.ly/1tbFYxm) work over the next five years at Riverfront Park will create a central plaza and promenade, revive the Pavilion as a year-round event center, add lighting to pathways and make other improvements.

The levy will pay for work through 2034 as part of the city’s plan to repair water lines and update stormwater drainage systems while fixing streets.

Neither ballot measure will change current property tax rates of 91 cents for every $1,000 of assessed value.
