MARTINSBURG, W.Va. (AP) - A Martinsburg man is scheduled to go on trial next year on charges of killing a woman whose bound body was found in her home.

A Berkeley County grand jury indicted 38-year-old William P. Jackson last month on charges of first-degree murder and robbery. He also is charged with six counts of fraudulent use of an access device.

The Herald-Mail (https://bit.ly/1x5K3s7 ) of Maryland reports that Jackson’s trial is set for March 31, 2015, in Berkeley County Circuit Court.

A family member found the body of 72-year-old Martha Tyler in March 2013. Police say Tyler’s hands were bound and there was a bag over her head. She died as a result of ligature strangulation and smothering.
