ANAMOSA, Iowa (AP) - Vandals have damaged a veterans memorial that stands in front of the Jones County Courthouse in Anamosa.

County auditor Janine Sulzner discovered the damage a little after 6 a.m. Tuesday. An American flag and other flags that stood around the memorial were stolen or cut up. They included flags for Iowa and prisoners of war as well as flags for each military branch.

Sulzner says the flags are being replaced.

No arrests have been reported.
