VERMILLION, S.D. (AP) - Voters in Vermillion have approved a $3.1 million bond issue for a park improvement project that includes a new swimming pool.

The Yankton Daily Press & Dakotan reports (https://bit.ly/10UTX4O ) that voters on Tuesday approved the proposal by a 3-to-1 margin. The bond will fund much of the $5.25 million Prentis Park project, which includes a $4 million pool.

The existing pool is nearly half a century old.

Other park improvements will include an updated band shell, new basketball courts, new restrooms and additional parking.
