PHOENIX (AP) - An 18-year-old woman who suffered a severe head injury after falling from a motorcycle on a Phoenix street isn’t expected to survive.

Phoenix police say the woman lost control of the motorcycle Tuesday night, fell to the street and struck her head on the pavement. She is being treated at a hospital.

After she fell, the motorcycle remained upright, struck a wrought iron fence and was then struck by a pickup truck.

Police say speed is believed to have been a factor in the motorcycle accident.
