PHOENIX (AP) - Authorities say two 18-year-old men are in custody for allegedly doing damage to Phoenix Goldwater High School’s football field with a stolen vehicle last month.

Phoenix police say Richard Tafoya and Kody Sarkissian are being held on suspicion of commercial burglary, criminal damage and theft of means of transportation.

It was unclear Wednesday if either of the men has a lawyer yet.

Police responded to multiples calls involving a pickup truck damaging residential mailboxes and driving recklessly through residential yards Oct. 5.

They also responded to a call at Goldwater High regarding criminal damage.

Police say the suspects allegedly drove through the closed gates to the football field, drove onto the field and made doughnuts and then rammed into both goal posts.

The damage is estimated at several thousand dollars.
