RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) - Bond has been set at $300 for a Box Elder man accused drunken driving and rear-ending a school bus in Rapid City.

The Rapid City Journal reports (https://bit.ly/1uCChrL ) that 34-year-old Daniel Diaz is charged with DUI, hit-and-run, driving with a suspended license and no proof of insurance.

Police say Diaz fled the scene after his vehicle struck the bus Wednesday morning. He was later arrested when officers spotted his damaged vehicle in the area.

Rapid City Area Schools Superintendent Tim Mitchell says there were 39 students on the bus at the time of the crash. He says four children on the bus complained of “aches and pains” and were treated by a school nurse.
