CUSTER STATE PARK, S.D. (AP) - Some of the bison gathered during the annual Custer State Park Buffalo Roundup will be sold this month.

The bison auction will be held on Saturday, Nov. 15, at the park corrals in the southern Black Hills.

The park says 226 head will be sold.

The auction will also be online at https://www.DVAuction.com .

More than 14,000 people watched this year’s annual roundup in September, matching crowd records from the previous six years.

Horseback riders were joined by all-terrain vehicles and pickup trucks to gather about 1,200 bison into corrals, joining roughly 100 head brought in earlier. Most of them were given shots and returned to the park.
