LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. (AP) - A metro Atlanta man accused in his father’s death is being held without bond in the Gwinnett County jail.

Authorities said Thursday that a preliminary hearing for 19-year-old David Trent Walker has been scheduled for Nov. 14.

Walker was arrested Wednesday afternoon after authorities found him standing over 46-year-old David Walker who was bleeding and lying in the street in front of the family’s home near Hoschton - about 30 miles northwest of Athens.

The incident was reported as an assault and police have said Walker was later pronounced dead. Police Cpl. Jake Smith says the circumstances that led to the incident are unclear.

David Trent Walker is charged with murder and it’s unclear if he has an attorney.
