ASPEN, Colo. (AP) - Lauren Glendenning has been named executive editor of The Aspen Times.

Publisher Samantha Johnston announced the appointment Wednesday.

Glendenning has been the newspaper’s interim editor for the past month. Before that she was editorial projects manager for Colorado Mountain News Media, which owns and operates The Aspen Times.

Previously, she was a reporter and assistant managing editor for the Vail Daily, which is also owned by Colorado Mountain News Media.

The 33-year-old Glendenning is a native of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
