SEARCY, Ark. (AP) - Harding University has elected new officers for its board of trustees.

The board picked Roy Reeves to lead the board. Reeves is the retired chairman and chief executive officer of Liberty Bank in Russellville and first joined the board in 2007.

Dr. Bob Walker of Decatur, Alabama, was selected as the board’s vice chairman. Walker is a 1977 alumnus of the university and is a physician with Surgical Associates of North Alabama. The board picked Harrell Freeman of Metairie, Louisiana, as its secretary and Jimmy Cone of Little Rock as treasurer.

The newly elected officers will serve two-year terms in their respective positions. Harding’s board includes 24 people representing 10 states.
