SAN ANTONIO (AP) - A man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for threatening to kill the wife of a Bexar County sheriff’s deputy.

Jurors convicted 38-year-old Quinton Moody of retaliation against a police officer and delivered the sentence that was elongated due to prior convictions.

The deputy temporarily detained Moody in May 2013 after responding to a disturbance call. Authorities say Moody challenged the deputy to a fight before he was arrested. They say he threatened to kill the deputy’s wife.

Moody had previously been charged with injuring a child and for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
