JACKSON, Mich. (AP) - Two cranes will remove a 160,000-pound windmill base that rolled off a trailer and into a field next to a highway in southeast Michigan.

The Jackson Citizen Patriot reports (https://bit.ly/1uz5T8F ) U.S. 12 will close during the day Thursday between M-50 and M-52 in Lenawee County while crews set up the cranes and remove the piece of windmill. Michigan officials say it fell off a truck when the trailer carrying it rolled on Oct. 29 while driving around a curve.

A Michigan Department of Transportation spokeswoman says the two-lane road needs to close completely to accommodate the cranes. A detour will be posted.
