WASHINGTON, Mo. (AP) - An eastern Missouri man charged with second-degree murder in a 2013 crash that killed two people is in custody after allegedly running from authorities.

The Washington Missourian (https://bit.ly/1ElKemo ) reports that Joshua McFerrin of St. Clair failed to appear for a court hearing last week and had been sought by police until his arrest Wednesday. He is being held without bond at the Franklin County Jail.

Detectives went to an Iron County home on a tip that McFerrin was hiding there. Police say he ran out the back door and was quickly captured.

McFerrin wrecked his car on June 29, 2013, killing two passengers. Authorities suspect alcohol was a factor in the accident.
