NEW YORK (AP) - A 60-year-old man crossing the street has been struck and killed by a New York City bus.

It happened at 10:35 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Northern Boulevard and Union Street in Queens.

Police say the victim suffered severe trauma about the body and was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Authorities say the pedestrian was crossing Union Street when a Q13 bus making a turn into Northern Boulevard struck him.

The bus driver remained on the scene.

The investigation is continuing.
