BLUFFTON, S.C. (AP) - A South Carolina man has been charged in an armed standoff at a casino in California last month.

Bluffton Police Maj. Joseph Manning tells The Island Packet of Hilton Head (https://bit.ly/1xiJfiw ) that 40-year-old Benjamin James Rhodes of Bluffton was arrested at his jujitsu business Tuesday.

Rhodes is charged with kidnapping and false imprisonment in California and is awaiting extradition to the West Coast. It was not immediately clear if he had an attorney.

Authorities say Rhodes was one of 15 people involved in an armed standoff between tribal factions at a casino about 40 miles north of Fresno.

During the incident, many gamblers fled with chips still on the gambling tables. A federal judge has since ordered the casino closed.
