BARNHART, Mo. (AP) - Police in Jefferson County are investigating after a store worker shot and killed a man who allegedly threatened him with a gun.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department says the incident happened about 10:20 a.m. Thursday at Karsch’s Village Market. Authorities say the man appeared to be intoxicated and was causing a disturbance.

When two employees followed the man to the parking lot, he allegedly pulled a gun from his car and pointed it at them. One of the workers, who has a concealed-carry permit, pulled his own gun and shot the man.

The man died at the scene. His name has not been released.
