SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) - A New York City man visiting upstate friends has died from injuries suffered when the car he was riding in hit a tree along a Syracuse highway last week.

Police tell The Post-Standard of Syracuse (https://bit.ly/1rGJweY ) that 19-year-old Aaron Dykes of the Bronx died Monday morning at Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse.

Dykes was traveling with two friends when the 21-year-old man driving the car lost control on the West Seneca Turnpike late last Thursday night and crashed into a tree.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. A third man in the car wasn’t injured.

The cause of the crash is being investigated.
