TUCKER, Ga. (AP) - Police near Atlanta apprehended two suspects after a gun battle with officers in the middle of a Target store parking lot.

DeKalb County police say the men are accused of robbing a nearby Waffle House restaurant on Lavista Road, near Interstate 285, shortly before 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.

WSB-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1vtUdB3) that police responding to a 911 call arrived at the restaurant as the two suspects left in a car and drove across the street and crashed into a pole.

Police say the men got out of the car and began running and firing shots at police. No one was hurt in the gunfire.

With the aid of a police helicopter, officers captured the men in some nearby woods.

Information on charges was not immediately available.
