BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - A Burlington program that helps reduce the hazards of lead-based paint is getting a $3.4 million federal grant.

The grant was announced Tuesday by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

The money will go toward addressing lead hazards in 160 low-income homes through the Community and Economic Development Office.

The Burlington Lead Program provides lead-abatement services for income-qualifying families with young children in Burlington and Winooski.
