GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) - A Harrison County grand jury will hear the case of an armed holdup of a Long Beach bank and a pursuit during which shots were fired at witnesses who chased the robber’s car.

The Sun Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1vwwuBU ) a judge has ordered a grand jury review of charges against Austin Hubbard and Javaris Dixon, both 28 and from Gulfport.

Authorities said two masked men stole about $4,000 from Hancock Bank on Sept. 12.

A police affidavit in the court record said two men who saw the robbers leave the bank chased the getaway car and called police. Police said in the affidavit that five shots were fired at the witnesses.

Police said the men jumped out of the vehicle in Gulfport and were arrested in nearby woods. Police recovered two handguns, clothing believed used as masks and some of the stolen money, a court document said.

Hubbard and Dixon are held on bonds of $300,000 each.

Each is charged with armed robbery and drive-by shooting. Dixon also faces a charge of felony evasion.
