SWANTON, Vt. (AP) - A Vermont man who advertised a property for rent on Craigslist that was never available has been accused of taking rent money from two women.

Police said 25-year-old Edward Bouchard of Swanton has been issued violations for bad checks and false pretenses. He’s scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 27. It wasn’t immediately known if he had a lawyer.

One of the women said she paid Bouchard $1,960 for the first and last month’s rent. The payment was not returned.
