SELIGMAN, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities in north-central Arizona say a man from Sweden is dead after a motorcycle accident in Seligman.

Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched Sunday to an area on Route 66.

They say a 77-year-old motorcycle rider was following a white SUV support vehicle which had stopped.

The rider apparently wasn’t paying attention, didn’t immediately notice the stopped SUV and ran into the back of the vehicle.

Several witnesses say the rider had locked his brakes and attempted to swerve around the SUV just before the collision.

The rider was wearing a helmet, but was pronounced dead at the scene.

The name of the man is being withheld until the Swedish Consulate can notify his family.

Authorities say the driver of the SUV wasn’t impaired and no charges are expected.
