BOULDER, Colo. (AP) - A Colorado fugitive who was arrested in Mexico has been sentenced to 12 years to life in prison for a Boulder County rape conviction.

The Boulder Daily Camera reports (https://tinyurl.com/np5fn9m ) 38-year-old Calvin Nagy was sentenced Wednesday in district court.

Nagy was convicted in November of sexual assault and other charges but failed to appear at his sentencing hearing Feb. 6. He was free on $7,500 bond and living in Vail at the time.

He was arrested in Playa del Carmen (PLY’-yah del CAR’-mun), Mexico, and was returned to Boulder County last week.

Boulder police say they got a tip he was in Mexico. They worked with the FBI and Mexican authorities to apprehend him.

Nagy was also convicted of sexual assault in 1996 in Boulder County.
