BEDFORD, Pa. (AP) - Authorities say they captured an inmate who escaped from a central Pennsylvania jail while playing basketball.

State police found 32-year-old Jeremiah Moser on Wednesday morning at a Wal-Mart in Everett. He was arrested and arraigned on felony escape charges.

Authorities say Moser fled from the nearby Bedford County Jail on Tuesday while playing basketball with another inmate in an outdoor recreation area.

County Commissioner Chairman Kirt Morris tells The (Altoona) Mirror (https://bit.ly/1ppOjN7 ) that Moser likely climbed the basketball pole to get atop the backboard.

From there, he says Moser could have made it to the jail roof and jumped to a lower building before escaping the property.

Moser has been in custody since August on burglary and trespassing charges.
