WAILUKU, Hawaii (AP) - The public is invited to a gubernatorial debate hosted by the Maui Native Hawaiian Chamber of Commerce.

The forum will be held at 10:45 am Thursday. It will be at the Grand Wailea Resort on Maui.

It’s part of the group’s 8th Annual Business Fest which begins at 6 a.m. Candidates competing to become Maui’s next mayor and those who are running for county council also will participate in forums at other times throughout the day.

The event will kick off with a canoe arrival ceremony.

The deadline to register to attend the event is Wednesday, Oct. 1.
