DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - Independent Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders will return to Iowa for a town hall meeting in Davenport this weekend.

The political committee associated with Iowa Citizens for Community Improvement is sponsoring the public event on Saturday. Sanders, an independent who is supported largely by Democrats, was in Iowa last month for a series of town hall meetings.

The upcoming meeting will be at 6:30pm on the east campus of Genesis Medical Center.

Sanders is one of a number of liberals who are visiting Iowa, prompting speculation about their presidential ambitions for 2016. His last visit was over the same weekend that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton appeared at U.S. Sen. Tom Harkin’s annual fundraiser in Indianola.
