LAS VEGAS (AP) - Four protesters were arrested during a union demonstration against Station Casinos in Las Vegas.

The arrests were made Thursday night after hundreds of protesters marched through an upscale community to the company’s Red Rock Resort.

Culinary Union Local 226 is pressing Station Casinos to provide employees a “fair process” to decide whether to unionize.

The Las Vegas Sun reports a Culinary official was arrested after he tried to park a truck on a street for speakers to stand on, and three other labor leaders then were intentionally arrested in a show of support.

Demonstrators partially blocked a stretch of Charleston Boulevard outside the resort, even though the state denied the union a permit to close a lane.

Station Casinos, which operates a chain of neighborhood casinos, issued a statement saying it’s a “pro-employee company.”
