STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) - A concert featuring the works of two composers who will be present for the performance is planned at Oklahoma State University.

OSU Music will present “An American Journey” on Monday evening in the Seretean Center for the Performing Arts.

The director of choral and vocal studies at OSU, Z. Randall Stroope, says it’s an historic event for OSU. The concert will mark the return of the Presidential National Medal of Arts recipient, composer Morten Lauridsen. Stroope says he will be joined by accomplished New York composer Matthew Harris.

Music by Lauridsen including “Sure On This Shining Night,” ”Mid-Winter Songs,” ”Dirait-on” will be featured. Works by Matthew Harris will include “My Heart Leaps Up” and “Shakespeare Songs.”

Lauridsen received an honorary doctorate from OSU in 2012 for contributions to the arts.
