NOGALES, Ariz. (AP) - U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers have found 26 pounds of cocaine in the back seat of a sedan that tried crossing the Nogales port of entry into the U.S.

That amount of cocaine is worth about $275,000.

Officers found the drugs after asking a Tucson man driving a Nissan sedan to pull over for a second inspection on Tuesday.

The agency says that 33-year-old Clinton Stratford Wheeler was attempting to cross from Nogales, Sonora, Mexico, into the United States with the drugs hidden behind his back seat.
