JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas State University is seeking entries for the first Delta Flix Film and Media Festival.

Filmmakers, photographers and multimedia content specialists can submit their work for screening during the festival, which is scheduled in April.

Michael Bowman, media festival director and assistant professor of media at A-State, says organizers are interested in work relevant to the history and culture of Arkansas, the Mississippi Delta and the South, but that all topics are welcome.

The festival will run in conjunction with the 21st Delta Symposium, sponsored by the Department of English and Philosophy. The symposium features research in the humanities and social sciences. Under this year’s theme, “The South Goes to the Movies,” presenters will explore how America’s South is represented in film and video.

The entry deadline is Jan. 31.
