PENSACOLA, Fla. (AP) - Rescuers have suspended efforts to save a dolphin entangled in fishing line off Pensacola Beach.

The Pensacola News Journal (https://on.pnj.com/1xy0pck ) reports that veterinarians and workers from various marine wildlife groups spent about three hours Thursday morning in a final attempt to rescue the bottlenose dolphin.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has led the team of rescuers and tracked the dolphin for several months.

An official from NOAA says the agency will continue to monitor the young dolphin. Five attempts to rescue the dolphin over the last two weeks have failed.
