LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Forecasters say several inches of rain could fall across Arkansas over the next few days and have posted a flash flood watch for a large portion of the state.

Flash flood warnings were already posted early Friday for parts of northwestern Arkansas after heavy rains fell. People in areas north of a line from Mena to Arkadelphia to West Memphis are advised to watch for flooding rains through Sunday morning. Campers along riverbanks were told to be especially mindful of the weather.

Rainfall totals are expected to reach 3 inches statewide by Sunday morning. The area covered by the flash flood watch could see 4 inches, and more than 5 inches could fall along the Missouri border. Very heavy rainfall could collect in a short period of time.
