ATLANTA (AP) - The Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta will kick off 2015 with a familiar face at the helm.

The aquarium says Mike Leven is set to become president and CEO on Jan. 1. David Kimmel, who has been president since 2010, has stepped down.

Leven was previously CEO of the aquarium in 2008 and 2009. He left Atlanta to be president of the Las Vegas Sands Corporation. He announced in May that he would retire from the corporation when his contract expires at the end of the year.

The aquarium say founder and chairman Bernie Marcus will become chairman emeritus in 2015.
