PHOENIX (AP) - The Medicare “Part B” premium that most older people pay for outpatient care will stay the same next year.

Government officials say it’s the third consecutive year that the basic monthly premium has held steady.

It’s the first time that Part B premiums have remained the same for three consecutive years since 1970.

For the nearly 923,000 Arizonans enrolled in Medicare Part B, premiums and deductibles will remain unchanged in 2015 at $104.90 for premiums and $147 for deductibles.

Nationwide there are approximately 49 million Americans enrolled in Medicare Part B, which covers physicians’ services, outpatient hospital services, certain home health services, durable medical equipment, and other items.
