NARRAGANSETT, R.I. (AP) - A 7-year-old Narragansett girl is riding a new bicycle thanks to a local police officer.

Anastasia Cronin tells WJAR-TV (https://bit.ly/1yfCrWE ) someone had stolen her daughter Madison’s bicycle, two weeks after it was given to the girl as a birthday present from her grandparents.

Cronin called police and Officer Jim Fitzgerald was assigned to the case.

He was not able to track down the missing bicycle. Instead, he bought Madison a new one and had it delivered to her home.

Madison’s mom says is very grateful for Officer Fitzgerald’s act of kindness and Madison is very happy with her new pink bicycle.
