DUBUQUE, Iowa (AP) - Dubuque police have arrested a man who they say led officers on a high-speed chase before crashing into a building.

The Telegraph Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1yVdQrm ) 38-year-old Robert Schmitt of Dubuque was charged Thursday with operating a vehicle while intoxicated and felony eluding. Schmitt was also cited on other charges including having an illegal muffler and driving on the wrong side of a road.

Police say an officer tried to pull Schmitt over because of the muffler but he drove off. They say he drove 90 mph down a 25 mph street before striking a building.

No injuries were reported.

Police say the man had a blood alcohol content of 0.168 percent.

It wasn’t immediately clear if Schmitt has an attorney.
