BOURGE, La. (AP) - Voters in Terrebonne Parish’s Recreation District 5 will get to vote Nov. 4 on a proposed tax renewal for their district.

Kenny White, board chairman of the recreation district, said the proposed 11-mill tax is not an increase.

Beverly Matherne, board secretary/treasurer, tells The Courier (https://bit.ly/Zi7kdF) the tax revenue is spent on general maintenance, to operate the recreation buildings and fields.

Matherne said she estimates the renewed tax would produce about $275,000.
