DYERSVILLE, Iowa (AP) - The Dubuque County Sheriff’s Department says foul play isn’t suspected in the case of an infant death.

The department said Thursday an autopsy performed by the State Medical Examiner’s Office shows that the Dyersville infant was stillborn. They say the Oct. 3 death was suspicious because the mother delayed reporting it to authorities until hours later.

Authorities say the delay in reporting the death doesn’t violate any laws and it doesn’t expect to file charges in the case.
