Toledo (4-2) at Iowa State (1-4)

Line: Iowa State by 2 ½

Series Record: tied 1-1.

WHAT’S AT STAKE

The Cyclones need to win to maintain any reasonable hopes of reaching a bowl game. The Rockets will look to prove they’re for real after blowout losses against Missouri and Cincinnati.

KEY MATCHUP

Iowa State’s defensive line vs. Toledo’s running game. Star Kareen Hunt might not play for the Rockets, but freshman Terry Swanson rushed for 172 yards in last week’s win over Western Michigan. If the Cyclones can control the line of scrimmage, they should be in good shape.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Toledo QB Logan Woodside. He started the season as the backup but has already thrown for 1,075 yards and seven TDs.

Iowa State: WR Allen Lazard. The Cyclones offense needs a spark. Five games into his career, Lazard might be set for a breakout performance.

FACTS & FIGURES

Iowa State and Toledo’s previous two matchups were decided by a total of three points…Iowa State tight end E.J. Bibbs set season highs with six catches for 69 yards last week in a loss to Oklahoma State…Toledo’s offense is averaging 516 yards a game, tops in the Mid-American Conference.
